Privacy Policy

Karamu is operated by Karamu Hospitality Ltd, based in Nairobi, Kenya. For anything in this policy you can reach us at contact@getkaramu.com.

We only collect what you choose to give us through the waitlist form:

• Restaurants: your name, restaurant name, email address, and (optionally) phone number and city.
• Diners: your name and email address so we can tell you when restaurants near you go live.

We do not ask for, store, or process any payment-card or M-Pesa details on this site. No deposit or payment is taken at the waitlist stage.

• To send you a confirmation that you have joined the waitlist.
• To contact you about early access, onboarding, and Karamu launch news.

We will not sell your information, and we will not send you marketing on behalf of anyone else.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and send email — for example our email delivery provider and our hosting and database providers. They process your information only on our instructions, and only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep waitlist information until Karamu launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. To make any of these requests, email contact@getkaramu.com and we will action it promptly.

As Karamu grows from a waitlist into a full product, this policy will be expanded to cover the live service. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page.
